Therefore this photo is dated 1876 - 1879.
This is confirmed by an opinion from a top qualified fashion expert " The lady wears the bustle that was fashionable mainly 1870-75, but was still worn sometimes in 1876 before it began to collapse (literally). I would say that this costume displays the late-bustle style, so usually I would date this image to about 1875/6. In view of the Brown takeover in 1876 and also the mention of this on the mount, it could be that 1876 is your exact year. I would be surprised if it was much later. "
